Revenge Porn Site Admin Arrested

Revenge porn is one of the hottest trends in on-line porn. While traditional prepackaged and home-made amateur porn are the standard fare of people looking for flesh on-line, revenge porn brings extra spice to the table. Revenge porn is when an x-boyfriend gets embarrassing nude photos or hardcore photos of their former girlfriends and shares them online. Revenge porn is a porn disseminated to exact revenge on a former loved one that has moved on. What a way to get back at somebody for leaving a relationship, what a way to emotionally savage somebody. Talk about a public humiliation.

This is why California has passed a law against revenge porn. California is hardly alone. There are other jurisdictions that have either passed laws or are in the process of passing laws against this kind of behavior. Well, one of the biggest websites that deal specifically with revenge porn, isanyoneup.com, is in legal trouble. The operator of this website, 27-year-old Hunter Moore, has been arrested on federal charges. He has been charged of paying somebody to break into email accounts of women all across the country and to find their explicit images. As more and more people become aware that revenge porn exists, as you can really imagine, more and more people have taken steps into not putting themselves in a precarious situation, in other words, they have stepped up their efforts to protect their privacy. Well, it appears that Hunter Moore has been more pro active in trying to find women’s own naked selfies so he can stock his website. Well, the indictment is up and filed in Los Angeles federal court. The person who is supposedly paid by Moore has the last name of Evens.

It should be interesting how this plays out. Keep in mind that this may not be a slam dunk because revenge porn is very hard to prosecute. It is very easy to get to the guy that shared hard-core video or pictures of him and his ex-girlfriend but its hard to pin the guy who actually made money off that video by posting it on a website. Be that its may, Moore was previously ordered to pay 250,000 dollar judgement due to defamation suit filed against him. But absent serious law that punishes third parties is still kind of a dicey shutting down porn site.
