The cutscene takes to a heavenly castle where a potent archangel, Imperious, prepares to fight the game series’ main bad guy, Diablo. The twist in the scene is that Diablo chose to take the form of a harmless-looking little girl.
The archangel was not fooled and challenged Diablo to take his real form. Imperious and Diablo duke it out and Imperious puts up quite a fight. In the end, Diablo emerges victorious. The narrator’s voice narrates how Diablo caused a lot of dissent and strife in heaven. His influence transformed formerly good and noble angels into shadows of their former selves. The voice said that everything was lost and he surrendered to the despair. However, he said that mortal heroes came through and rescued the archangels and brought hope to the angels fighting Diablo. He said that at the source of all angelic power-the Great Crystal Arch, a mortal prevailed and cut down prime evil.
The scene then switches back to the Crystal arch and we see Diablo disintegrate as falls down from the arch. An angel then narrates the story’s ending. The angel declares that he will become a mortal and stand together with humans.
