Facebook has officially turned on the switch for Facebook Timeline. This means that the feature, which was earlier available solely to developers and the millions of others who pretended to be developers just to have access to it and last week to users in New Zealand, is now readily available for all users from the other parts of the world.
Apparently, the beta stage of the new user profile was well accepted and all the tests such as those for performance and speed are successful. The Timeline is now accessible for mobile and desktop.
Timeline goes live on December 22 and so users are given the option to review the content appearing in their respective Timelines before publishing it to the public. But they are also free to publish it before the review period ends.
For all those who are still quite new to the feature, the Timeline according to Facebook is “the evolution of your profile.” This changes the way you highlight updates about your life by providing you with the option to choose which ones to show or draw attention to. As opposed to the previous method of plainly scrolling down and clicking on “Older Posts” you now have more options to make specific stories stand out or hide others.
The visual appeal is also one clear change with the new Timeline. A giant cover photo welcomes visitors to your profile. It also gives you a wider-spaced profile where you can enlarge favorite photos to your delight.
The biggest change with your Facebook profile feature is that you can largely manipulate the stories that appear in your Timeline from all the content in your account since the beginning of your Facebook life.
Moreover, you can also go to the “Activity Log” to check and review everything you have shared in the social network. This displays your activities and posts in the site since day one. You can then filter the stories by various categories like Comments, Events, Friends, Posts with Location, Posts by Others, Photos, Your Posts, Info Updates, and Notes among others.
If you still don’t have the Timeline activated just click the green-colored “Get Timeline button” from this url “facebook.com/about/timeline.”
