New smartphone Startup turns Outdoor Activities to Interactive Video Games

Explorence, a new startup outdoor-video-game maker introduced its new beta smartphone outdoor mobile game innovation this week.

Smartphone technology has advanced even more with various amazing features, one of which is with mobile gaming wherein motion-sensing consoles and customizable game controllers are but a staple. The latest innovation is presented by Explorence that aims to turn favorite outdoor activities like biking, snowboarding, running, and driving to interactive video games.

Dash, the first app title under Explorence, enables users to create and participate in any kind of race. When a certain user creates a race, identifying the start and finish areas through GPS, he can choose the level of virtual currency he wants to bet on the race. At any other time, anyone using the application can compete within the race. Users who play the race will earn points by winning and participating. These points are equivalent to game upgrades and actual tangible goods that can be redeemed later on.

Through this new technology, users can make their own courses and compete with others. Its features such as leader-boards, check points, accompanying music, fail conditions and rewards all add up to the ultimate interactive outdoor video game experience.

For Dash, when the player is ready, a countdown timer will start then gun sound signals the user to begin. As you go through the race, musical sound effects play and when you reach the end of the race, the app stops the timer and immediately records your time and places your score at the virtual leader-board where you can compare your scores with others you joined the competition.

Other apps under the hood ventures into extreme sports such as snowboarding, wherein your smartphone measures amount of rotations, distance and other qualities as a player is hitting jumps and tricks. And when the user is done, points are also rewarded.

According to the company, this new startup and apps will pave way for people to get up from their couches and make those who already love outdoor activities even more excited to play. With Explorence, your smartphone becomes a Wii and you are the controller.

The private beta version is only available for Android phones offering 500 invites in its website. But the official launching later this year will be for both Android and iOS.
