Pinnacle Studio Plus System requirements
Many video editing programs require a very powerful computer to run smoothly, but one of the benefits of the Pinnacle Studio series is that it performs well even on computers with lower specs. Pinnacle Studio Plus runs on Windows XP SP2 and XP SP3, as well as Windows Vista and Vista SP1 operating systems. An Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon processor of at least 1.8GHz is required for Windows XP systems. Windows Vista systems are recommended to have an Intel Pentium HT or AMD Athlon processor of 2.4GHz, or a dual core processor of at least 1.6GHz. An Intel Core2Duo 2.4GHz processor or better is required for 1440x1080 AVCHD editing, while 1920x1080 AVCHD editing requires at least an Intel Core2Quad 2.66Ghz processor. While the program can tackle most tasks with 1GB of RAM, HD encoding requires at least 2GB of RAM.
Graphics cards should be compatible with DirectX 9 or 10, and have at least 64MB of memory. Vista systems require a graphics card with 128MB memory, and HD editing requires a graphics card with 256MB memory. Your sound card should also be DirectX 9 compatible. You will also need at least 2GB of free space to accommodate the installation and a DVD-ROM drive to run the installation discs. Other hardware may be needed for certain capturing and output options.
Pinnacle Studio Plus Features
Pinnacle Studio Plus has all of the available features in Pinnacle Studio, plus some extra features for enhanced compatibility and capabilities. For convenience and ease of use, Studio Plus has a collection of themes and templates that can be used to create a professional-looking production. Multi-layer effects, media mixing, and motion graphics in 2D and 3D are also available. Pinnacle Montage is a helpful feature that makes editing a breeze, allowing you to combine, view, and publish multiple videos on one screen. A number of audio editing features are also available to give your video a great soundtrack.
Some of the features that were added to make Pinnacle Studio Plus more advanced than the basic version are picture-in-picture editing and Chroma Key editing. The main feature that truly set the Studio Plus apart from the regular version is HD support. With Pinnacle Studio Plus, you can edit HDV and AVCHD formats as well as burn HD-DVD and AVCHD on standard DVD.
