MyDVD 10 Premier, as its name suggests is a program that lets you author DVDs. It follows the lead of other DVD-authoring programs in the sense that it has also been made to be more multi-functional. So, you can now also use the program to edit videos and pictures.
Like the common practice of other manufacturers, the MyDVD 10 Premier is application included in a bundle with other programs by Roxio. MyDVD is the DVD-authoring software, and other programs deal specifically with conversion of video formats, photo editing, video editing, and disc burning. Similarities may be seen between MyDVD10 Premier and another Roxio product, the Easy Media Creator 10, but MyDVD lacks some audio-related features. Its similarities with other Roxio products show that it is tightly integrated with them, so whatever MyDVD project you have can easily be used with other Roxio programs as well.
MyDVD Premier Features
If you have prior experience with the previous versions of MyDVD, you will notice a lot of old features, but also some new ones. The menu template library has been given an overhaul, making the 72 templates included here more useful, attractive and easier to use. You may also notice that the animated backgrounds of the programs have been made more stylish, so they don’t divert your attention from the more important text and buttons.
The other improved features of the program are related to the suite of applications MyDVD is included in. This includes the Media Manager which allows you to transfer music, video, and photo files to mobile devices. The application also converts footage taken from an HD camera to WMV HD and MPEG2.
MyDVD Premier User Interface
Among improvements to the user interface include the changing of menu soundtracks, with the music’s length automatically edited to provide suited ending rather than the usual fade out effect. Users can now also customize the design and behavior of their menus. You may get frustrated, though with some features still lacking like combining two options on the same menu page.

Among the good features of MyDVD Premier include a user interface that’s easy to use, its capacity to accept a good number of video output/playback formats, and its feature that allows video capture to be transferred from camcorder to DVD directly.
The video tools may take time to look for, but can be used easily once found. Moreover, the application does not allow the production of Blu-Ray discs despite managing to accept and produce most formats.
