Organize your Music Library with MediaMonkey Gold

MediaMonkey Gold Product Summary

MediaMonkey Gold gives music lovers a great way to organize their music libraries.  The software automatically detects any storage devices connected to the computer while on startup and imports the music from those devices into the computer upon the user’s selection.  A good array of media file types are supported by MediaMonkey Gold, whether they be the common mp3 and wav to the rarer types like mp4, aac, ogg and  flac.  Only very old types of music files cannot be recognized by the program.  Then, you’ll be amazed at how organized your music library will be, thanks to the program.

MediaMonkey Gold Features

The main feature of the MediaMonkey Gold is its capability to automatically sort into categories, giving its users the best options to find the music files as quickly as possible. The program usually organizes the music files by the common means: alphabetically by title, artist’s name or album name. Other groupings less used are also available, like genre, composer or year. The special feature MediaMonkey gold has in this respect is that it also classifies files into a “Files of Edit” listing, which compiles music tracks that do not have proper tags. Alas, the software also offers a solution by having a built-in function that addresses unknown or inconsistent tags.

MediaMonkey Gold User Interface

All the menu options are located at the top of the user interface of the MediaMonkey Gold.  The options and icons are pretty self-explanatory.  The lower portion is divided into three panels, with the leftmost panel listing all the computer’s folders or the classifications of files (artist or title, for example).  The selection of the user will show on the middle panel. So, for example, the user clicks on the folder named “artist” on the left panel, all music files will show in the middle panel, classified by artist.  The selection of the user from the middle panel will be shown on the rightmost panel.  More information of the track currently playing is located on the long bottom panel.

MediaMonkey Gold Review

What MediaMonkey Gold has for it is the fact that it is jammed with so many features aside from the ones that users are familiar with and commonly use.  Aside from the automatic tag editor, users can also use the manual tag editor should they be more comfortable manually editing the information of their files one by one.  The software also has a built-in file monitor that automatically picks up any new music file, edits its information and adds it automatically to the computer’s music library.  There are also options to create playlists, unlimited mp3 encoding and even a built-in CD or DVD burner.

I just got MediaMonkey about a week ago, but I think it is the best MP3 software I have found and I have tried quite a few. It does not hog as much processor as iTunes and it is easier than most to organize.

I love that I can organize my music as I see fit, not like iTunes, Media Player or Windows Explorer want me to. You can add sub-folders and unlike Media Player it organizes your music by album, not by artist so albums by various artists will be kept together.

I can also use Media Monkey to play music from my computer remotely through my Android phone. That is such a great feature because it means I do not have be tied to my computer to pick playlists. I recommend MediaMonkey to everyone.

I can be pretty obsessive (like insane) when it comes to organizing my mp3 songs. When I heard about Mediamonkey Gold, I was hoping it could be helpful in making my collection well ordered. I have to say it was flexible and functional enough to use. What I was impressed with was that I could use the product easily, without investing too much time. I do have a huge music collection, but im not a high skilled computer user or generally using software etc. This media organization software is not hard to understand or use. Most people I think that wants to manage mp3 songs and such wants to be able to tag, search, copy, move and perhabst even convert music which I can say Media monkey Gold does without problem.

I cant find any negative things with this software.
