Google Chrome is a Web Browser Software for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and is created by Google Inc.
Google Chrome the Internet Giants Own Web Browser
The makers of the big hit search engine have decided to go further by developing a Web Browser Software that is simple, fast and secure. Named after the graphical user interface of browsers, called chrome, the Google Chrome was introduced to the public as a beta version for Windows on September of 2008. Less than three years later, the web browser became the third most widely used web browsers in the world. At third, Google Chrome commands a mere 12% usage. Still, this is already a good percentage considering that a few years back, Internet Explorer was dominating with nearly a hundred percent usage. Maybe with a few more versions and a more efficient way of using its Webkit layout engine, the Google Chrome will later on raise its usage numbers.
Google Chrome Summary
As have been intended by its developers, the Google Chrome web browser is simple and fast. In fact, said web browser has been tested against competitors in terms of speed. It has been found that Google Chrome outperformed big names, such as Internet Explorer, Safari and Mozilla Firefox. The speed and precision of its execution are made possible by the V8 JavaScript engine. As for security, the web browser has been designed to collect and blacklist sites that contain any type of malware and phishing activity. However, Google Chrome has also been discovered to be vulnerable to some types of corruption as well. The Google Chrome also comes with most of the user interface features that users are familiar with in other web browsers. However, there are some changes that make the interface slightly different. For example, the user can minimize the browser window to a point that the title bar is directly over the tabs. The home icon is also not part of the default. The user has to make it part of his preferences.
Google Chrome Features
Again, as have been mentioned earlier, one of the best features of Google Chrome is its speed. In terms of its speediness, the web browser can certainly compete with the rest. It is also simple and secure, as intended. However, there may still be some improvements needed in terms of security. Anyway, this is typically the case with most browsers. Google Chrome is also known for implementing features ahead of competitors that have already announced their intention to integrate those features into their own web browsers. For example, Mozilla had announced in 2008 that it would merge the address bar and the search engine bar for Firefox. Google somehow just managed to get ahead with its own version of Mozilla’s planned design.
Google Chrome User Interface
With Google Chrome, users will find the tabs taking over. The user interface is clean and uncluttered, with the tabs located above the address bar. Some users are a little uncomfortable with this innovation but many others prefer it. In Google Chrome, the tabs can be dragged around as required. This feature is already present in the Safari Browser. However, Google Chrome has again managed to improve on another browser’s feature. Most of the other features of the user interface are similar to those of other browsers, except for a few things. The home icon is not part of the default settings; the user must choose to display it. When not maximized, Google Chrome’s tabs are found directly under the title bar.
Google Chrome Review
The makers of Google know what a good thing is. That is why they are eager to use a feature that will make Google Chrome a much better version. In the future though, the developers would be doing themselves a favor by announcing any new feature plans so that competing developers cannot accuse them of copying. Generally fast, secure and simple, the Google Chrome should be able to make any job a lot easier. A few debugging sessions should be able to help developers zero in on security problems. Those sessions should also be followed by intense security improvements. In terms of speed, on the other hand, Google Chrome undoubtedly excels. The web browser is known for beating out some of its closest competitors. The uncluttered look should help users focus more.
