Blogger is a Blog Service for Web Publishers, Writers, Individuals, Businesses and maintained by Google, Inc.

Blogger Summary

Blogger is a free blog service provided by Google, and widely used from personal to commercial blogs. With that said, blogger is a great option for anyone looking for a free blog platform. Aside from that, Blogger is at par with the most popular blogging tools in terms of features and capabilities. It allows users to build sites that are easy to look at, and most importantly, lets them monetize their sites. Unlike other website builders, users do not need to apply for a premium account to get the best of Blogger. Everything is offered meaty and at their best, plus there is a huge community and help resources to assist new users.

Blogger Features

Signing up for Blogger is very easy, especially if you have an existing Gmail account. You can use your Gmail email address or use one from another provider. The signup process consists of three steps, and you can right away create your first post using the WYSIWIG rich-text editor if you do not want to check out video tutorials and the FAQ section. The post editor supports everything you need to create a good-looking post: bullets, colors, font styles, font sizes, links, images, videos, indention, lists, block quotes, and spell checking. It even has undo and redo buttons, and you can remove formatting at once by clicking a specific button.

The settings tab allows you to configure several things in your blog. You can change the title of the blog, add a description, add it to the listing, and make it searchable in Google. Also, you can opt to show email post links, show quick editing, allow adult content, and enable transliteration of the blog. The best thing about Blogger is that you can see the design changes right away. You can create a fabicon, and alter several parts of the blog, including the header, sidebar gadgets, blog posts, and attributes.

Blogger is also a good option for marketers because it lets you sign up for AdSense easier. The statistics section displays all relevant information about your site, including daily, monthly, and overall page views, posts, audience, and traffic sources. However, you will need to use a free visitor-monitoring widget or add-on because Blogger does not have one. Managing comments is also very hassle-free, since you can detect spam, delete comments, or remove content. Finally, Blogger is available in two views, the old and new version, so you have the say about how you want your Blogger page to greet you when you sign in.

Blogger User Interface

Blogger has a very snappy and clean interface. Everything is easy to access and you can always scroll to the bottom of the page if you want help. The dashboard, my account, and sign out buttons are located on the top right of the page if you are using the old interface version, but these are hidden under a clean drop-down menu in the new version. Also, you just need to know the image representation of some functions, for instance, the hub or wheel icon if you want to access some hidden options, or the pen icon if you want to create a new post. Overall, everything you see is very intuitive.

Blogger Review

Blogger is an easy-to-use blogging tool that does not require you any amount to have the best-looking personal or business site. It is packed with the needed functionalities and features, and because it is a popular platform, many users provide open-source templates that work perfectly with the tool, not to mention the tons of advice you can get from thousands of users. Using blogger by google as your blog platform is not a guarantee that your site will be visible on Google search engine, your website is as prioritized as any other blog but as a free blog platform for your blog it is one of the best around and very easy to use.

I set up a lot of feeder blogs to hone in on very specific targeted markets. Blogger works wonderfully for this purpose. It's a free service and you can set up as many blogs as you want, so it's easy to set up keyword specific blogs for many different keywords. As you do this, you can see which words get the best results and then add content to your main blog based on those results. Blogger also tends to rank decently, although not as high as stand-alone self-hosted blogs. Now that there are a variety of themes available, you can make these blogs quite attractive and unique, compared to the limited themes available just a few years agol

I personally love Blogger and I've made a lot of money using the platform. I recommend anyone new to marketing on the web to go get an account at Blogger and start putting up blogs. It is an excellent way to begin making some money before spending any out on your new business.

Blogger themes are out there for you to make your blog stand out from the crowd so it doesn't have to look the same as everyone else's. You can add as many different blogs as you want and still manage them all from one central location. And you don't have to worry about updating all the time like you do with other blog platforms.

I absolutely love Blogger. Not only can you host as many blogs as you want for free, they make it super easy to make some money with those blogs using Adsense or Amazon. With both of these programs, a large key to success is to have many sites and with Blogger, it's easy to build blog after blog after blog.

The only real drawback that I've found is that if you need help, don't bother with support. The answers you get, if any, will rarely address the issue. They seem to be canned responses.

Having tried a couple of other free blog sites and been disappointed I had high hopes for Blogger. I got off to a good start as set up and design is straightforward. I also really liked the extra options, such as delayed timing for blog posts. That's really useful if you are planning to be away from the computer for a length of time.

On the negative side, the connections between Blogger and Google make it difficult for people in some countries to read or, more likely, to comment on my blog posts. If you are looking to appeal to an international audience you may want to bear this in mind.

Blogger is a great blogging platform offered by Google. The blog is free and they even host it for you for free. Most people make a blog using a subdomain but there is an option to purchase your own top level domain and still use the Blogger platform.

This is a fantastic service for personal bloggers since it's fast and easy to get a blog up and live. However, if you wish to make money by blogging, I don't recommend it as Google can and does remove blogs frequently.

I had a great blog on Blogger.com and one day it just vanished. I emailed support only to be told that I had violated their TOS. I couldn't find anything remotely close to violating their TOS so I emailed back and got the same canned message. I had that site going for over 2 years and suddenly they say there's something wrong but they won't even tell me what it is? What gives? I recommend people go elsewhere now as there are plenty of other places you can build a blog for free without worrying about whether all your work is going to disappear for no reason.
