Customizing XP

I know a lot of you love XP like myself, but don't really feel like upgrading to Vista for many reasons.

I don't blame you. Luckily, there's an easier way to get a nice looking OS.

Customize.org - Download Themes, Skins, Wallpapers and Icons for Windows from the original skin site! is just an example of where to go if you want this. Grab yourself a fresh wallpaper, and download the uxtheme.dll file which will patch your copy of XP, enabling it for custom themes.

I'm using a patched uxtheme.dll and a custom theme. It's pretty nice, but can cause *some* conflictions with XP. I'd much rather get Vista at this point.

I believe this could be the first great OS for years. Never tried Vista and will probably never do.

Not only that but windows 7 is light years more attractive than XP and comes lighter.

Plus im tired of XP.

Yeah, XP has gotten pretty boring, I will give you that. I guess thats why I've resorted to customizing it so much, haha.

If you want do a little more advanced work, you can go and download different desktop themes. I browse through customize.org since it has a great community of users and because they give reviews on the different applications available. Another thing that's great about the site is that it can really cater to beginners. The styles are all different and they can even make your XP look like a Mac.

This site is awesome. I didn't think there is such a site. I searched the net on dozens of sites for XP themes and new sounds. I still have not found the sounds but I found some themes on the site you recommended and I like that I turned my PC into a PC from the future. Regards.
