I will prefer Xp out of the two.
Vista is too complicated and not at all user friendly.
If you want to update your os go fro windows 7 rather than vista
I am a user of Windows XP SP3, but now I want to update my OS. I never install vista. I use vista some time in my friend PC but I never found any difference in vista from XP. I think control panel is more complicating of Vista then XP. If any one know about any interesting feature of vista please share it here..

I have used both of these operating systems, and I would have to say that I prefer Windows Vista over Windows XP. The look of Windows Vista exceeds the look of Windows XP, in my opinion.
I've been using XP for too long, and I love it, but after trying Vista, I really want to give it a shot... and possibly upgrade to Windows 7 to give it a spin.
to be honest I don't know of any differences. I am no computer nerd. I've been using XP all my life until last Weekend when I got this new laptop, which included vista. they're both good. I like Windows XP an Vista also.
I would prefer Vista it has the improved usability because it has undergoes a lot of the modifications through which your applications may work with Vista. There are lots of different programs like game, various applications and many more things to operate. XP is also best in its own way with the most fast operating tools.
I prefer windows XP, Vista seems to use to many PC resources which actually slows it down.
I would also say that XP is best. Now there is a new version of XP SP3 2010. It is the best OS with less resources conceived compare to other OS.
