Default Sleep problems, should i buy melatonin?

I have serious sleep problems, sometimes i sleep too much and sometimes as little as 3-4 hours.

A doctor prescribes sleeping pills for me but it is not good for me. My mind just spins when i wake up and have a hard time to fully wake up and coffee doesnt help either. Just sits like a zombie in front of my breakfast every morning. I do wake up but it takes atleast 2 hours.

Sleeping pills are not good in the long run so I want to stop using them but need another option meanwhile.

Can melatonin help ? Any other suggestions ?

Melatonin can be best for you, because it can help regulate sleep cycles, allowing you to get the restful, deep sleep you need. Melatonin is a natural hormone found in the body, and is medically used to regulate the body’s internal clock. It adjusts sleep-wake cycles, making it an effective aid supplement. It is also used to counter effects of delayed sleep phase disorder.

Well I almost have the same problem and I would appreciate it if you would tell me if you have tried melatonin and whether it worked for you or not
    Thank you very much.

I have tried melatonin for the past month and is a bigger help than sleeping pills. I would recommend trying Melatonin if you have any sort of sleeping disorder. Good thing about Melatonin is that there's very little sideeffects, so in that case trying it out is risk-free. I read Melatonin promotes REM-sleep and can create vivid dreams. Something i can concur, though i dont experience crazy dreams every night but fun when it happens, good or bad.
