Try using the sound recorder inbuilt software in XP and other OS too.

I think that it will or might work.

So you want to make a karaoke version of it. Am I right?

My friend uses a software that do the right job but I don't know what is it. I will just ask him later for the name of the software.

I think it's really hard to remove the vocals from a music file without the right equipment. If I'm not mistaken, Virtual DJ can do the job for you. But unluckily, it isn't free.

Fire1 is right, there's no techology to do this. But if you search, you can find acapellas and instrumentals.

I have been interested in finding programs that would be able to do this. Is it difficult to do, or would it simply be a click of a button? I have seen many karaoke versions of songs so I was wondering how they were able to do that.

Try adobe audtion 2.0. With my experience with adobe audition is the second voice, I'm having a hard time removing it.
