    Default Gimp

I usually use Photoshop but I bought a new netbook and I lost my installer and I don't want to pay for another copy since I have it on my old laptop so I decided to go for GIMP. How do you guys find it? I think it's a decent substitute for Photoshop but I don't find it as user friendly as others find it. Actually, I find Photoshop to be much simpler in commands than GIMP is. Or is that just me?

It might just be because you used Photoshop first, presumably for a while. I also used to use Photoshop and loved it (and still miss it) but find Gimp to be an acceptable substitute. I must admit I found Photoshop more user friendly also, but I did use it for years and years before switching.

Perhaps. I was so used to Photoshop and I really have some difficulties getting used to the different functions of GIMP. My friend told me I had to download some add-ons to make it a bit more Photoshop-y but I really don't like going through the hassle :/

The same problem was for me and I look for free alternative to adobe Photoshop. I have use GIMP in Ubuntu. Now I am using artweaver, a free photo editor just similar to photoshop with less memory usage and bit less features. But just can try I am sure it can fulfill your needs.
