CoffeeCup HTML Editor Summary

The CoffeeCup HTML editor is software that provides a beginning webmaster an easy means to maintain and update a website. It is, however, not limited to new users as it also supports the use of source code tags written in more complex programming languages. Not only is the software easy to use but it is also very affordable. The user needs only save changes when shifting from Content Editor to Visual Editor.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor Features

For the user who needs to edit HTML but does not know much about the programming language, software like CoffeeCup HTML Editor is a must-try. CoffeeCup makes it easy for the new user to get around web developing projects without having to master HTML. The said software is not a lightweight, either. It also supports more complex programming languages, such as CSS, PHP and XHTML although not to such a great extent. CoffeeCup HTML editor uses tags from said languages in the website’s source code. The CoffeeCup HTML Editor can also test compatibility with up to six different browsers. The user can also upload his files using FTP. Other fun and helpful features are custom code snippets, which save some pieces of code that can be used later on with just a click of the mouse, and a multilingual spell check.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor Interface

The software is pretty user-friendly even for beginners in the web development world. The layout is user-friendly, with tabs on top. The three main views, namely Code Editor, Visual Editor and Preview are easily accessible. This way, the user can clearly see what his changes in the HTML code are doing to the actual website layout. He can then decide if his code is just right or needs a little tweaking.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor Support

The CoffeeCup Software website provides all sorts of support to the users of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. There are video tutorials, community forums and some helpful articles found in the site’s User Support Center. The articles are discussions on important topics and questions on the software.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor Review

The ease of use and the affordable price make the CoffeeCup HTML editor a great tool for new web developers, particularly those who are not well-versed in any programming language. The product is not perfect, however. The user has to save every time the user switches from Code Editor to Visual Editor. This, however, should not be much of a problem, and may actually help the user ensure that he saves every little change he makes on the site. Programmers are aware of the need to constantly save even the smallest changes. At least, there won’t be lost changes if ever some sort of computer failure occurs. All in all, the software is a must-have, especially for users who are suddenly thrust into the task of maintaining and updating a site. With an interface such as that of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor, new users will not be intimidated to explore.

Coffee Cup is a good HTML editor for those who are unfamiliar with HTML and just need to use it for basic stuff. However, if you build a lot of sites or are pretty experienced with HTML, this just isn't robust enough. For example, it does a poor job working with CSS so it can be quite limiting as to what you can do with it.

What is nice is that there are free lifetime updates so perhaps it will continue to improve for things like CSS in the future. The built-in table editor is an excellent feature as tables give even experienced coders problems at times.

Good for newbies, not so much if you have experience
